The Prize

Cortina d'Ampezzo is home to one of the "classic" stages of women's World Cup Alpine skiing and will host the Alpine Ski World Championships from 7 to 21 February 2021.

A long-running sporting tradition that sees some of the greatest athletes compete. This year would have seen the return of men's skiing in Cortina, 30 years after the last historic race was won by Kristian Ghedina on domestic slopes. The World Cup Finals were set to run from March 18 to 22 but the event had to be canceled due to the Codiv-19 emergency in order to protect the health of everyone involved.

In this difficult situation that has affected the whole country, the Cortina 2021 Foundation has decided to offer its support to help the fight against the Codiv-19 virus by auctioning off the trophies created for the Finals. The proceeds will be donated to Belluno Hospital for the purchase of medical equipment needed for assisted breathing.

These trophies are the prizes that the athletes would have been awarded at the Finals. As Cortina Classic tradition dictates, the pieces are handcrafted by the Pio Alverà Glassworks - an example of Ampezzo craftsmanship - using resins and other local natural elements. The trophies have been personalized with the event's logo, the race category and the position for which they were intended.

Get your hands on one of these prizes and you can feel like a sporting star while you help a good cause!

This year you can take home first prize in the mixed team parallel event...
