On the stage of the Ariston, Elisa performed the song "O forse sei tu", placing second in the 72nd edition of the Festival.

Over the course of her career spanning over twenty years, after the release of eleven studio albums, six compilations, two live albums, four video albums, seventy-three singles and as many music videos, Elisa has sold over 5.5 million records. Her songs and albums have repeatedly reached number one in the national and international music charts, earning a total of one diamond disc, one multiplatinum disc (as a member of the Artisti Uniti per l'Abruzzo group), forty-four platinum discs and nine gold discs.

In Italy she has won all the main prizes and awards, from the Sanremo Festival in 2001 with the song Luce, to Targa Tenco, two Lunezia Awards, 15 Italian Wind & Music Awards, Festivalbar, the Silver Ribbon, and a Television Direction Award. Among other numerous awards she has also received a MTV Europe Music Award. In 2013 the song Ancora qui, soundtrack of Quentin Tarantino's film Django Unchained, written by Elisa and composed by Ennio Morricone, was among the songs shortlisted for nomination for the Oscar for the best original song. The soundtrack album also received a 2014 Grammy Award nomination in the Best Score for a Movie category.

She took part in the competition at the Sanremo 2022 Festival, 21 years after her 2001 victory, with the song "O forse sei tu". At the end of the event the song, which placed second in the final classification, won the "Giancarlo Bigazzi" Award for best musical composition.
