Enjoy dinner with Italian former defended Giuseppe Bergomi at the Antica Darsena – Palace Hotel in Como, Italy.

The winner of this fantastic experience, along with a friend, will meet the former Inter full-back, have dinner with him and find out all the most interesting facts about his extraordinary career

Born in Milan on December 22 1963, at the age of 16 he joined the Inter youth section, going on to be a club stalwart and legendary player. Bergomi played a total of 756 games for Inter, including 519 in Serie A and 117 in the European Cups.

He make a record-breaking number of UEFA Cup and Italian Cup appearances for Inter, beaten only by Javier Zanetti for his total number of appearances in Serie A, European cups and the Milan Derby.

He also achieved some extraordinary successes playing for Italy: between 1982 and 1998 he made 81 appearances, taking part in four World Championships, including the one the country won in 1982. The World Cup victory in Spain made him the youngest Italian footballer to have won the world championship, and the second in the world after Pele.

The dinner will take place on a date to be mutually agreed between Giuseppe Bergomi and the auction winner.

The Cause

Amici per il Centrafrica ODV is a non-religious association created in 2001 for proactive participation in helping people who live in poverty. This nonprofit organization helps the people of the Central African Republic, especially those experiencing greatest hardship in Sub-Saharan Africa. It offers them instruction, healthcare and training for employment so that they might become fully self-sufficient.

The association is made up of volunteers who help both in Italy and Africa. It receives funding from various sources, including individuals, private businesses, banks, foundations, public bodies and schools. It believes that the improvement in living conditions of people all over the world is everyone's responsibility.

Growth and lifting the limits of development are stimulated through educating people and raising awareness about existing opportunities. Healthcare emergencies, widespread poverty due to political, social and structural instability, and the lack of attention toward defending minorities all impair the people of Central African countries in building solid bases for planning their future.
