BOF is an association based in Imola in the province of Bologna. Imola is known worldwide for its racetrack which has hosted international sporting events such as the Formula 1 Grand Prix or concerts of well-known musical groups / singers worldwide.
The association aims at carrying out activities of social utility and non-profit. In particular, in recent months BOF has activated a fundraiser and in collaboration with Supermarkets, Discounts and grocery stores in support of the Corona Emergency Virus. The association has implemented the "Spesa Solidale": individuals, according to their economic availability, can leave something from their groceries in trolleys positioned in the store. Once collected by the volunteers the donated items are delivered to the organizations responsible for distribution (Italian Red Cross committee of Imola, Banco Alimentare, Caritas Diocesiana of Imola).
This year, in addition to what has just been described, the association also wants to support the "NeverGiveUp Memorial Nicola Ussia". This project was born in 2015 from the family's desire to remember the father Nicola, who died in 2009 from a heart attack. The aim of NeverGiveUp is to raise awareness about cardiovascular diseases prevention. Every year the association organizes a fundraising event. Thanks to the money collected during the event, five defibrillators were donated to local Sports Associations and Educational Institutes.
However, due to the CoronaVirus pandemic, the 6th NeverGiveUp Memorial Nicola Ussia will not be able to take place in June. Nonetheless, thanks to the support of the BOF Association, a new initiative was conceived: a charity auction of sports memorabilia whose proceeds will be destined for the "Spesa Solidale" and the purchase of a new defibrillator.
