The depth of a canyon can be compared to the depth of the soul and this very material work is an attempt to represent the very greatness and vastness of human existence.

My name is Eleonora Alvigini, classe 1968, and I have been drawing since I was a little girl; I spent most of my free time with my mother, a skilled drawer, surrounded by pieces of paper and colors. Discovering the pleasure of every one of my artistic gestures, over time I matured the desire the teach through creativity, following my college studies with a university degree in teaching. Throughout my life I have worked in child education using art, from drawing to watercolors all the way to plasticine and even acrylic and oil, as a privileged form of learning for children. After a journey of watercolors with the American artist Ingrid E. Albrecht from 1997-1999 in Chicago, I started painting oil on canvas, taking inspiration from my reading and studying of Impressionist artists, with particular attention to Van Gogh of whom I have always admired the chromatic power and emotional paradoxes as well as his incredible talent in the research of light.

Fascinated by the history of this artist and his way of elaborating reality perceived, as well as his way of expressing emotions and sentiments, over the years I also built up the desire to express emotions and lived events through the color that changes and moves on the canvas depending on the internal meaning an image inspired me of. Through my work I wish to communicate reality and spirituality, with the objective of expressing emotions so that the eye of the beholder may understand for himself the message that best corresponds to that universal desire for good and beautiful that every one of us is looking for.

I mainly paint experiences, situations that may be found within an urban, seaside or countryside landscape, but which always contain symbols and metaphors of life.
