The Prize

Whether you have previously ridden the Olympic Velodrome, or have it on your cycling ‘to do list’, there has not been a cycling challenge like this.

You will have an amazing three hours centred around one sprint of a lifetime, as you have the unique challenge of beating the time set on the day by the attending GB Cycling Gold Medallist. With all equipment provided. you get an intensive training session under the guidance of the expert coaches and the 75 minute track session culminates in a SPRINT OF A LIFETIME where you get your name on the Olympic scoreboard as well as individual prizes.

Wherever you finish, you get a souvenir medal placed around your neck by an actual GB gold medallist and a photo signed by the athlete capturing that once in a lifetime moment. The session culminates in a Q and A with the host medal winner. Your host will be drawn from GB gold medal cyclists, the last five days were hosted respectively by Elinor Barker, Philip Hindes, Shanaze Reade, Callum Skinner and Dani Rowe. Everyone goes home with exclusive event medals and signed memorabilia from the host athlete plus professional photos to give you an awesome social media timeline.

You get bonuses of 0.25 seconds for every £100 donated over the reserve price through this charity auction. These bonuses also count in the race to the Podium against your fellow attendees.

The GB Medallist will be in touch pre event to outline how you can get friends, colleagues and family to help generate more time bonuses if you wish to get them to support you and the good cause. As for the day itself, spectators are welcome and its open to cyclists aged 13 years and above with dates to choose from each Autumn and Spring.

The Cause

Ava Helene Atkinson was born on May 26, 2014, but because she was born so early, she experienced many health issues.

Ava was moved to the neo-natal unit where she was put on a ventilator to help her breathe. Hours later, Ava’s condition had not improved, and after discussions with the consultant it was decided that due to the severity of the health issues she had, we as parents had to make the most devastating decision of our lives, together with the care team, to withdraw treatment. Minutes after coming off the ventilator Ava passed away peacefully with her family around her.

Whilst at the hospital we were given a keepsake box in which we were able to have memories of Ava. These precious memories are there for us to look at and cherish. Her keepsake box has brought comfort to us all, so much so that we have decided we would like to put together our own memory boxes for other parents who have suffered the loss of a child.

We have decided to make these keepsake boxes ourselves and hope that these boxes will be looked at for years to come.
