The Prize

On our Cairngorms National Park Experience. You will stay for 3 nights in The Auld Kirk, Bed and Breakfast in a converted Victorian church. There is only 7 rooms here so we may have to change accommodation subject to availability.
We have included a visit to Balmoral Castle – one of the Queens Residences, as well as tour of the Royal Lochnagar Distillery which is alongside the Castle.

There is so much else to do if you want to extend your stay – museums, gardens, historical sights, art galleries, water sports, hiking, biking, horse riding, archery, open top stagecoach tours…… the list goes on!

Balmoral Castle
The grounds, gardens, exhibitions, gift shop and coffee shop will be open to the Public on a daily basis from the beginning of April to the end of July. Opening times are from 10.00a.m. until 5.00p.m. however please note that the last recommended admission is at 4.30 p.m. approximately.

Distillery Tour
Neighbouring Balmoral Castle, Royal Lochnagar is the perfect place to discover how Scotch Whisky is made. Watch as the team of operators tend to the traditional mashtun, gleaming copper stills and fill casks at the traditional distillery, which retains much of its original charm. The tour ends with a dram of the award-winning Royal Lochnagar 12 Year Old Single Highland Malt.

Terms & Conditions: Should the above be cancelled due to Covid we will transfer the booking to a later date. In such cases we will allow the booking to be rolled over until the end of 2023.

The Cause

Small Steps Project is a children’s charity dealing with the most devastating humanitarian consequence of the global waste problem: child waste pickers.

All over the world thousands of children survive by collecting and recycling rubbish on landfill sites. Deprived of an education, they work when they should be at school and put their lives at risk on a daily basis. Work on the dumps is dirty and dangerous. As well as respiratory and skin diseases, cuts and lacerations to their hands and feet are commonplace and risk of infection is extremely high in the toxic environment.

Small Steps Project provides shoes to protect their feet and support to enable them to take small steps off the dump sites, out of poverty and into education.

To date, Small Steps Project has provided shoes and aid to over 20,000 children thanks to the money raised from shoes, all donated and signed by some of the most famous celebrities in the world.
