The Prize

Displayed at the Institute for Italian Culture in Copenaghen in 2016.

Since the Sixties Massimo Marchesotti has participated in collective and personal exhibitions that have brought the artist both national and international recognition. In 1971 the President of the Chamber of Deputies awarded him the Gold Medal at the International Competition of Contemporary Art.

Later he began to concentrate on delving into the condition of man in society, a theme that has stayed with him throughout his career.

He has held solo exhibitions in Milan, Verona, Siena, Barcelona, Lisbon, Berlin, Trento, New York, Rome, Venice, Sydney and in several other cities in France and Denmark. Fascinated by the light of Northern countries, he has been studying its landscape and shapes for almost twenty years, leading him to create intensely powerful oil paintings, drawings and watercolors. Several Danish galleries have noticed his painting and exhibited his works.

The Cause

The Benedetta D'Intino Center was founded in 1994 from the dream of Cristina Mondadori in memory of her granddaughter Benedetta, who passed away prematurely. Thanks to a multidisciplinary team made up of 20 professionals, every year it assists more than 300 children and young people with severe communication disabilities and psychological distress together with their families.

The Center operates through two sectors of clinical intervention: Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC), which deals with children with complex communication needs and which also includes a specific communication program for autism, and Psychotherapy, which follows children and families who need psychological support to deal with trauma or uncomfortable situations.
