Bottle of Barolo, 1964 - Capetta.

Content: 72cl
Volume: 11%

This wine, like all vintage wines in general, is subject to a multitude of variables that condition aging with the passing of time so as not to guarantee its drinkability.

Vintage wine is not to be considered as a product to be tasted, but as an emotion that brings with it the memories of a past time. It is first and foremost a valuable collector's item and, later, if you are lucky, a wine to savor.

Francesco Capetta was born in Castiglione Tinella. He is the son of peasant farmers who were humble and industrious and for centuries transformed the Langhe into fertile and lush soil through painstaking effort and daily struggle. The Langhe also nurtured in him an entrepreneurial spirit that from an early age would allow him to understand and foresee the transformations that were taking place.

In 1953 Francesco purchased an old farmhouse just outside of Santo Stefano Belbo. It was the core of what went on to become the headquarters of the Capetta company. In 1970 the company's first modern sparkling wine system was installed. Producing sparkling wine in temperature controlled autoclaves at that time was innovative representing an important step in the pursuit of the best available production technologies. This would become a continuing theme in the Capetta story.

Please note: Preserved professionally for over 50 years in a special cellar, this is a collector's bottle, therefore the quality of the wine cannot be guaranteed.
