The Prize
In 2004 Damien Hirst presented a splendid exhibition at the National Archaeological Museum of Naples.
This extraordinary exhibition, "The Agony and the Ecstasy" by Damien Hirst, was hosted at the National Archaeological Museum of Naples, from October 31, 2004 to January 31, 2005, as part of the "Annali delle Arti" project promoted by the Campania Region, conceived and directed by Achille Bonito Oliva, and curated by Eduardo Cicelyn. The exhibition presented a selection of over forty representative works from the artist's career, his first ever retrospective exhibition in the world in a museum.
On that occasion, special tickets bearing the image of Damien Hirst's "spot" work were produced exclusively for that exhibition in limited numbers (this is number 71). Very few of these tickets were signed by Hirst and framed in a plexiglass case complete with screen printing wording, the year 2004, Naples and the name Damien Hirst.
This is an almost unique and truly unobtainable piece.
