Muhammad Ali Signed Fight Ticket, 1971
This is the official ticket to the Muhammad Ali vs Buster Mathis fight held at the Astrodome in Houston on November 17, 1971.
Ali dominated the boxing match, winning with ease. He beat Mathis twice in the eleventh round and twice more in the final round but he refused to take the fight to a knockout out of compassion for Mathis.
Ali famously said before the fight: “I'm gonna do to Buster what the Indians did to Custer" and one of the posters promoting the event used the tagline "The Mountain Comes to Muhammad".
Muhammad Ali has signed the ticket, making it a unique collector's item.
