The Prize

Take home this Banksy Di-Faced Tenner.

Color offset lithograph on paper, produced in 2005. Banksy's Di-Faced Tenner with a portrait of Princess Diana reads “I promise to pay the bearer on demand the ultimate price”. On the back, underneath the portrait of Charles Darwin, Banksy has included the ominous statement of “Trust No One”. The item comes with Certificate of Authenticity by Dope! Gallery. Steve Lazarides represented Banksy in his early years and was originally his driver. He catapulted his art into the public spotlight. The tenner was the first Banksy artwork to enter the British Museum's Private Collection earlier this year.

About the artist

Banksy is the most sought after and most collected street artist. His works represent a safe investment destined to grow over time, adding value in addition to the intrinsic value of art. He made the concept of multiple pop art work even more interesting, becoming a point of reference on the art market with his posters and his items. Banksy is known for urban interventions that demonstrate irreverent wit and scathing political comment. While maintaining his anonymous identity, the artist has altered street signs, illegally printed his own currency and illegally hung his work in the Louvre and the Museum of Modern Art. He often uses spray paint and stencil in his critiques of consumerism, political authority, terrorism and the state of art and its exhibition. His street art, installations and studio-produced works have been exhibited in Los Angeles, New York, London, Bethlehem and beyond. His art has been the subject of widespread interest on the secondary market.
