Backpack signed by Pope Francis on the occasion of the V World Day of the Poor, celebrated in Assisi on 12th November 2021, where 500 +Three°°° backpacks were donated to the poor.

The auction aims to raise funds to help the populations of the villages in Africa and the Amazon engaged in the collection and production of eco-sustainable materials with which the + Three °°° products are made.

The backpack is made of authentically vegetable and biodegradable rubber obtained from the latex of the trees of the Amazon rainforests. On the front, the backpack presents Pope Francis signature, the logo of the initiative of the V World Day of the Poor and +Three °°° logo.

It is totally handcrafted and Made in Italy, also thanks to the support of the cooperative Cartiera in Sasso Marconi, which employs people in disadvantaged conditions to create an ethically and socially sustainable production process.

The Cause

Amazon Watch holds governments and corporations accountable, defends Earth Defenders against threats and attacks, channels support and holds open the doors of the international stage for our Indigenous partners, and supports bonds of solidarity. Amazon Watch is committed to protecting the remaining rainforest to avert the tipping point of the ecosystem for the future of the Amazon and the global climate.

The GIE CABES is made up of individual and collective enterprises of craftsmen in the textile sector in Burkina Faso and Mali. It aims to promote artisanal and traditional textiles and create a reliable supply chain that meets international standards. GIE CABES offers work opportunities to artisans from marginalized communities, especially women, to lift them out of poverty. To achieve its objectives, GIE CABES collaborates with the Ethical Fashion Initiative (EFI) to consolidate its expertise and resources by providing technical assistance and training, as well as facilitating long-term business opportunities with fashion clients.

Thanks to this assistance, around 2,885 artisans or 90 associations and cooperatives working throughout the value chain of hand-woven textiles, from cotton ginning to finished fabrics, are now suppliers of international fashion brands and lifestyle.
