The Cause

"Born of the desire to bring aid to the wounded on the battlefield without discrimination, the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, whether nationally or internationally, seeks to prevent and alleviate suffering wherever it may be, to enforce human respect and to protect life and health. It promotes mutual understanding, friendship, cooperation and lasting peace among all people".

"Humanity" is one of the seven basic principles which guarantees and guides the actions of the volunteers of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. The association is responsible for organising and carrying out services of health and social assistance to national and foreign populations in extreme conditions and for building the structure for civil protection.

Its other main objective is to share, even in school and in collaboration with the school authorities, the principles, aims and ideals of the Red Cross. The association works closely with the Italian government and the armed forces, allowing them to immediately intervene in case of emergency.
