Arsenal FC Players' Winners Medal, from the 2008 LG Amsterdam Tournament
Winners medal from The Amsterdam Tournament 2008, known as the "LG Amsterdam Tournament 2008" for sponsorship reasons, was the tenth Amsterdam Tournament, a pre-season football tournament for club teams from around the world. The 2008 tournament was contested by Ajax, Arsenal, Internazionale and Sevilla on 8 August and 9 August 2008 at the Amsterdam ArenA. Arsenal won the tournament with 8 points and this is one of the medals produced to be presented to the winning squad. However due to squad numbers they produced more medals than there were player in the Arsenal squad so this one was spare. This was part of a collection of memorabilia that came from 'The international Event Partnership' a company that organised pre-season football tournaments.
St Joseph’s Hospice first opened in 1905 and since then has been caring for and supporting people affected by serious illness. We try to improve the quality of life for people with life-limiting conditions and help them live life to the full, to the very end. Supporting families and carers is also an important part of what we do. St Joseph's is an independent charity, and only receives 56% of funding from the NHS. For the rest, we are heavily reliant on fundraising efforts and the kind generosity of our community.
