"Arrivano" I Tori Liberi by Patrizia Grieco.

Features:

Black terracotta sculpture with wrought iron parts, mounted on fire-worked half wheels, unique handcrafted work
Dimensions: 30 x 50 x 18 cm

The Artwork:

"Arrivano" is the vision of the imminent danger - nature - that in my imagination I hope animals can sense. After a period of confinement of our species, which has allowed wild animals to regain possession of some territories that have been denied to them for a long time, they will see humans arrive again, possibly unchanged and ready to put their lives in danger once more. The "tori liberi" series came from the desire to express the pride of the natural world and its strength, without the association with any form of violence as is often the case with bulls in art.

The Artist:

Patrizia Grieco is a contemporary sculptor who lives and works between Italy and France. She has collaborated with Simeoni, Lista and Duriez. In 2011 she founded the Ventiditalia group, together with other artists and the curator Nino Altilio. Since 2012 she has exhibited in Berlin, Sanremo, the Venice and Genoa Biennials, Naples, Zunyi (China), Fukuoka (Japan) and at the ancient De Martino furnaces with two exhibitions and performances: La Nostra Storia and Gabbie.

In 2016 she attended an artistic residence in Tucheng (China). In 2019 she was the winner of a Unesco project, along with the artist C. Guicheteau, which is currently in the process of being realized for an open-air museum.
Her works are present in the Museum of Nove, Museum of Modern Art in Tucheng (China), L.A.M Pomona (CA) and other public and private collections.
The artist says of her art: “I consider my works to be sort of autobiographical becasue they always express my joy, my love for life, nature and the surrounding world, but also the sadness of not recognizing myself in it, my worries, the restraints of modern society, and how to protect ourselves from them, and the ones we build ourselves ... This is what I would like to show through my work, my continuous journey towards knowledge that is deeply rooted in my past. "
