The Prize

This one-off artwork depicts MotoGP world champion Marc Marquez riding his famous Repsol Honda. This is unique because the base is a piece of high-grade steel and the artwork was created using the same paints and automotive techniques to spray Marc's actual Honda bike.

Each individual colour is masked and then sprayed until all the layers are built up. Shading and effects are added and then a clear coat finish, which gives the artwork a beautiful glossy shine. The piece is even more spectacular in person than it is photographed.

The artist DrAutoArt specialises in this style of work and has created numerous pieces for people involved in Formula 1 and MotoGP. His process takes up to 50 hours to complete.

The piece measures 85 x 30 cm. It has pads on the back that make it sit 2 cm from the wall. It is on 2 mm thick strong steel.
