The Prize

Enjoy a tasting menu specially paired with matching wines curated by Corporate Chef Claudio Cardoso at SUSHISAMBA. Additionally, you will meet Chef Claudio to hear about his experiences in the Amazon with Cool Earth as well as his dishes featuring ingredients sourced directly from the rain forest.

Born and raised in South Africa, Claudio's first taste of cross-cultural cuisine happened in his very own home at family dinners, which often incorporated his mother’s South African favourites and his father’s Portuguese flair. Head chef by the age of 22, he has worked in restaurants all around the world and became executive chef at SUSHISAMBA in 2013 where his interpretation of the brand’s Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian menu shines in the 80 inventive dishes available.

Guests must be aged 18 or older.

The Cause

Cool Earth is an NGO that works with rainforest communities to halt deforestation and its effect on climate change.

They put local people back in control, giving them the resources they need to keep their forest intact. And, by protecting rainforest on the frontline of deforestation, Cool Earth's partners shield millions of acres of neighbouring forest.

It is an approach that research is continually proving to be the most effective way to keep rainforests standing.

Cool Earth's mission is to end the cycle of deforestation that entrenches communities into further poverty. Through investments in health, education and livelihoods, Cool Earth has helped transform vulnerable villages into thriving communities that earn more from keeping the forest standing than they could earn from clearing it.

No boardrooms, no fenced-off reserves—just local people safeguarding the future of their forest and the future of the planet.
