The Prize

The diptych of Musa and Santambrogio is made up of 2 works each measuring 42.5x57.5 cm.

Created in 2013 in acrylic / cyanotype / silk-screen printing on paper. Framed.

The two artists, both linked to the city of Como, donated a diptych reproducing the 10 thousand lire banknote. The works show respectively the two sides of the banknote, the front with the nineteenth-century portrait of Alessandro Volta in the version sketched by Giovita Garavaglia. The banknote also features his most famous invention, the battery. On the reverse side is a reproduction of the Temple erected in Como, the birthplace of Volta, in 1927, on the occasion of the centenary of his death. The work is part of a group of works created for an exhibition entitled 120 VOLT (A) in May 2013 in Como.

Fabrizio Musa was born in 1971 and made his debut on the art scene in the second half of the 90s. His working method includes a multitude of techniques and has been linked to architecture on several occasions.

Enzo Santambrogio was born iin 1965 in Erba but lives in Zanzibar, he can be defined as an eclectic and versatile artist, his artistic career ranges from sculpture to photography, from design to painting.

The Cause

For over 15 years OBM ONLUS has been committed to offering aid to women, children and families who come to the Vittore Buzzi Children's Hospital in Milan, helping to make their experience gentler as they are treated, offering them a welcoming environment and giving them access to healthcare excellence and technological innovation. OBM ONLUS operates daily in 3 specific areas to provide optimal solutions for children, babies and their parents, so that they can receive the best care to grow up healthy and happy:

1) giving the hospital a human touch by creating colorful play areas for children, offering a warm welcome to aid treatment and reduce the stress of hospital stays;

2) providing assistance to families by offering psychological support and hospitality to make their experience less traumatic;

3) aiding technological development within the hospital by purchasing medical and diagnostic equipment.

The hospital is still in the middle of the COVID emergency. There have been better times but now we have a lot of sick children. We have decided to strengthen the neonatology area, so that every newborn can be welcomed in the safest way possible. COVID has seen an increase in premature births and so the hospital needs more special cots to help the newborns grow strong. Our goal is to donate an Infant Warmer to the Buzzi Neonatology department, a station complete with all the necessary equipment to be used in the dedicated COVID area or moved to the delivery room.
