The Valentine Elementary PTA works hard to support the students of W.L. Valentine Elementary School in San Marino, CA. This school was established in 1917 and currently serves over 500 students. The PTA helps fund a vast amount of programs in the school, which would not be possible without them. It is through the PTA that children are able to attend art lessons, music lessons and regularly scheduled PE classes. They strive to create a well-rounded agenda that allows each child to participate in activities such as ice cream socials, gardening lessons, bike safety programs, art festivals and much more. Teacher wishlists that provide classrooms with necessary educational supplies are funded through the PTA. Access to the library is supported by the PTA, as it provides the funding for the librarian, new books and magazines. Most recently, the PTA was able to bring a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) curriculum and technology to the school, including SMART boards that communicate in real time with students and Chromebooks that enable interactive lessons. The parents, teachers, and administrators of Valentine Elementary believe that every child has the right to learn.
