Win an enchanting tour of the Jaeger-LeCoultre factory, in the heart of Joux Valley and Swiss Jura Mountains. Established in 1833, the Jaeger-LeCoultre factory boasts years of experience; blending together 180 different specialist skills, they create luxury watches and breathe life into each and every component. Whether designing, assembling, decorating or moulding – every single stage of the creation process is fulfilled at this great Maison.

Since business started at the Maison, they have created over 1,200 calibres, thus becoming a famous pillar in watchmaking industry. Their specialist skillset is particularly evident in The Reverso watch which was first created in 1931 out of the Art Déco movement, as well as in The Master which stands out for its classic and sophisticated masculine lines, and The Atmos pendulum clock, with it’s almost perpetual motion.

The schedule includes:

Day 1

Journey to Le Sentier, Switzerland
Overnight stay at the Hotel in Ginevra

Day 2

9.30am: Arrive at the factory
10.00am: Guided tour of the JLC factory and several ateliers
12.30am: Lunch
2.30pm: Visit the workshops
3.00pm: Visit the "Heritage Gallery JLC" and see a presentation of the new collection of watches, trinkets and high-end jewellery.
5.30pm: Transfer home from the Jaeger-LeCoultre factory

The Cause

GLUT1 deficiency syndrome is a rare genetic disease caused by mutations in the SLC2A1 gene. This gene provides instructions for producing a protein called the glucose transporter protein type 1 (GLUT1). It is responsible for transporting glucose to the brain. When the brain is deprived of its main source of fuel, brain development and functioning are affected. Patients suffer from epileptic seizures, motor disorders and cognitive defects.

The Associazione Italiana GLUT1 Onlus is committed to helping all those affected by this disease.

Your contribution is very important to us because it allows us to carry on supporting scientific research projects. These projects are the only means for giving us hope that in the future there will be a definitive cure to this disease.
