The Prize

The gold pound of the year 2021 is also called Sovereign or Gold Sovereign and represents one of the most representative coins of the Royal Mint, the famous United Kingdom mint that has been minting coins continuously since 886.

On the front of the 2021 gold pound is face of Elizabeth II designed by Jody Clark, engraver of the Royal Mint. On the reverse, St. George is depicted on horseback killing the dragon, a very famous work by the Italian artist Benedetto Pistrucci. The weight in gold is 7.322381 grams, while the total weight of the coin is equal to 7.98805 grams. The thickness is 1.52 mm and the diameter 22.05 mm.
