Icon par excellence of Italian sparkling wines, this Giulio Ferrari is an exceptional wine able to win the race against time. It is a Trentodoc obtained from the best Chardonnay grapes coming from Lunelli family vineyards on the slopes of the mountains that frame Trento up to 600 meters in altitude. It is aged on the lees for over 10 years, acquiring great complexity while maintaining its balance, freshness, and elegance. Enshrined by an uninterrupted stream of awards and recognition in Italy, where it has won the Gambero Rosso's “Tre bicchieri” (a prestigious wine and food award), this wine has also enjoyed success abroad, where it has obtained the maximum points from the most authoritative sector magazines, scoring 98/100 in Decanter and 96/100 in Wine Advocate rankings. This Giulio Ferrari is also the only sparkling wine selected by Wine Spectator to be classified among the top 10 Italian wines for the “Best of Italy Tasting” during the Wine Experience event and awarded “Top 100 Wine Cellar Selection” by Wine Enthusiast.

2006 was an extraordinary year for Trentodoc grapes. The extended winter chill postponed the vegetative flush by two weeks, but the exceptionally hot and dry climate in late spring/early summer allowed for its recovery. In August, heavy rains replenished the water reserves and, at the same time, brought cooler temperatures.

The Cause

Since 2005, Laureus Italia has been developing and supporting numerous projects aimed at minors living in situations of severe socio-economic deprivation, helping them to feel part of a community. The Foundation collaborates with more than 70 territorial realities and involves over 30 Ambassadors, sports champions and more. In addition to supporting minors in difficulty, the Laureus Italia Foundation also caters to coaches, educators and teachers through training courses.

The Laureus Foundation, in fact, uses sport as a tool for the inclusion and contrast of educational poverty to accompany minors in their growth path. The activities take place in the outskirts of Italian cities including Milan, Rome, Genoa, Naples, Catania, Palermo and Turin and involve and support over 3000 children in the practice of 20 different sports activities, including football, basketball, surfing, judo and many others.
