Take home this exclusive bottle of 2014 Ornellaia. Ornellaia is a cuvée of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot and the faithful expression of unique terrain developed in harmony with nature.

2014 is one of the most particular years in Ornellaia’s history. The warm, rainy winter was followed by a mild, dry spring, which allowed for normal plant growth with punctual and regular blooming. After a regular July, August was rainy and cold, hindering the ripening of the grapes and greatly increasing disease pressure. The meticulous work at the vineyard, both the stripping of leaves and the administrating of treatments throughout the month of August, kept the grapes perfectly healthy till harvest in September and October. The weather conditions during these two months were perfect, with sunny, dry days providing optimum ripening. During the harvest phase, bunches were meticulously selected, both in the field - some rows of grapes being harvested in three distinct moments - and at the selection table, in order to fill the tubs only with perfectly healthy and fully ripened bunches of grapes.

The 2014 harvest was one of the longest and latest in Ornellaia, with the first Merlots being harvested starting September 6, but the majority of the historical vines - including some Merlots – harvested in October. The October 22 harvest end date was the latest ever.
