The tailor’s touch can be seen in every detail. Practically all the steps involved in its creation and production are carried out by hand. The fabric is cut by expert hands, with great care taken to ensure that stripes and checks meet exactly when the pattern of the fabric requires it. Carefully selected fabrics range from top quality wool to prized cashmere, brilliant silk, fine cottons and linens. The jacket lining, the sewing of the neck, the making of the pockets, the rever, the armhole, the embroidery of the buttonholes, just to name a few, are strictly handmade details. The inside waistband of our trousers, the bartacks on belt-loops, the corners of front pockets, the back pockets and buttonholes are all hand-sewn, as dictated by the rules of long-established tailoring traditions. The inside of the jacket is lined with camel hair in the front and horsehair on the shoulders. Hand-stitched seams, with looser stitches than machine ones, give the garment a natural stretchiness that ensures greater comfort and elasticity. Authentic tradition of tailoring, true Italian-made fashion and a great focus on the materials used, along with typically understated taste, give the garment an absolutely exclusive and unique character.

The Cause

The Sovereign Order of Malta is one of the oldest institutions in Western and Christian civilization.

In everyday life, its broad spectrum of social projects provides constant help to those who are forgotten or excluded from society. The Order is particularly committed to helping people affected by armed conflicts or natural disasters, providing medical assistance, caring for refugees and distributing medicines and basic survival equipment. Throughout the world, the Order of Malta is dedicated to the protection of human dignity and the assistance of all those who need help, regardless of their origin or religion.

Founded in Jerusalem in the 11th century, the Order of Malta has a long history of caring for the vulnerable and the sick. Its history of over 900 years is reflected in its full name: Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of St. John of Jerusalem of Rhodes and Malta. Since 1834 the seat of government of the Order of Malta has been in Rome, where it is guaranteed by extraterritoriality.

The proceeds obtained from this sale will be used to support the “Make a WISH - Water for Life” project with the aim of guaranteeing access to water to those who need it in some areas of Serbia, where adequate networks are lacking water, or to support the needs in the leper colony supported by the Sovereign Order of Malta in Egypt.
