A panoramic photograph that is part of a series of mine on the study of the urban landscape of Barcelona, ​​Spain.

 

Ciro Frank Schiappa was born in 1971 in Dublin, Ireland. He studied photography at Fondazione Studio Marangoni in Firenze, Italy. His photographs have been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including the 1997 European Biennale of Young Artists in Turin, the Arles International Photography Festival, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Galleria Civica in Modena, his hometown.

Schiappa's photographic interests in portraiture and architecture have continued to develop in his subsequent series, beginning with his Circostanze Familiari and continuing to include Leicamix and Maremmana, in which he focuses on how human nature relates to the environment.

He has more than 20 years of experience as a professional photographer in editorials and advertising campaigns.

Since 2013, he began his experience as a director of photography with the Sfondi Sonori series, shorts about classical music broadcast by the Sky Classica HD Tv station.

From the same year he made the documentary on the history of the Teatro de Brescia Memorie, for the Teatro Grande Foundation, screened in theaters and in Classica TV.

In 2016 he put his name to the photography for the film L'Amatore de Maria Mauti, which premiered at the Locarno Film Festival, at the IFFR in Rotterdam and at the BAFICI in Buenos Aires. In 2017 the film premiered in cinemas in Italy and has its tour in different cities and institutions, among which the Filmoteca de Catalunya and the Zumzeig cinema in Barcelona.
