“A Roma mi piaceva andare in giro per Cinecittà. Arrivai sul set del film La carrozza d’oro di Jean Renoir, in cui recitava Anna Magnani. Lei era bella in un modo strano, tormentato. Era una donna vera, tragica, angosciata dai drammi sentimentali. Con me fu molto gentile, affettuosa. In tanti film ho visto Anna Magnani raccogliersi i capelli in cima alla testa per poi lasciarli ricadere.
