The Circle, founded by Annie Lennox in 2008, brings together women from all walks of life so that they can learn about the injustices and inequality facing many millions of women and girls around the globe, inspire, be inspired and ultimately take action to bring about change. They believe in a world where women and girls are empowered, self-reliant, and able to influence the decisions that affect their lives. They campaign and advocate for equal opportunities and the ability to realise fundamental rights, raise funds to support women's rights and work in partnership with like-minded organisations which are already doing exceptional work. The Circle to date has supported over 160,000 women and girls in more than 16 countries. This has been done through using the income raised by the women members of The Circle and through the advocacy work they have undertaken such as publishing reports on the implementation of the Maputo Protocol in Kenya and the fundamental right to a Living Wage in the garment industry. The Circle's vision is equality for women and girls in a fairer world. .
