Nexe Fundació

Nexe Foundation is a non-profit organization that was founded more than 40 years ago with the aim of improving the quality of life of children with multiple disabilities and their families, and defending their rights.

Mission:

To offer children with PIMD care and support so that they can benefit from all the rights of children that have been recognized in several international conventions, such as the right to play, participate and go to school with the necessary supports.

Also, to provide professional support to families which will allow them to share the upbringing of a PIMD child with personal, work and family projects in the complex stage of the life cycle that childhood and adolescence represents.

We also dedicate our expertise and reputation to training professionals, developing research projects and making our work visible to society.

Through our four childhood care services, and following the dynamics of an ordinary nursery school, we offer children from 0 to 6 years of age with PIMD, from Monday to Friday, and from 9 am to 4 pm, a a space for specific and individualized early care. We focus on their educational, health and psychosocial development work from a global perspective. Likewise, we offer leisure activities for children and young people up to the age of 21 which respect their abilities and personal interests.

All this is possible thanks to an interdisciplinary team of professionals that attends in a global and integral way the needs of the children: tutors and educators, physiotherapists, nurse and nursing assistants, speech therapist, occupational therapist, music therapist, social worker, psychologist, cook and support monitors.
