Fondazione Querini Stampalia Onlus

Querini Stampalia is among the oldest Italian cultural foundations.

In 1868 Giovanni Querini Stampalia founded by will an institution with the task of “promoting the cult of good studies, and useful disciplines”. This is the vocation of the Foundation: to be a place of research and education, of meeting and confrontation, of personal growth and dissemination of knowledge.

It is a unique cultural reality in Venice, where ancient and modern, past and present are in continuous relation: in the art collections of the Museum, in the suggestion of contemporary architectural grafts and the garden, in the charm of the Library, in the exhibitions and events organized.

It is a project guided by the belief that culture can offer the critical tools to decipher reality in motion.

The goal is to preserve the received heritage in order to cultivate its potential for novelty, in a laboratory process of cultural production.
