Fondazione Museo del Calcio

In 2016, Central Italy was the victim of numerous earthquakes involving four different central Italian regions (Abruzzo, Lazio, Marche and Umbria), areas previously hit in the 2009 earthquakes, causing considerable damage. The Italian Football Federation (FIGC), along with the Leagues and Technical Components and the entire world of Italian football, jumped into action to provide aid to the communities affected. The “Il Calcio aiuta” program was created with the aim of bringing the game of soccer back to the areas hit so as to favor a return to normal life.

Besides the contribution provided by the FIGC Federal Council and those of Italian and foreign institutions, and fundraising through the Fondazione Museo del Calcio, the program includes the auctioning of material donated by the Serie A Clubs. The proceeds from these auctions will be used to meet the needs of the reestablished football clubs.
