Fondazione Alessio Tavecchio

Fondazione Alessio Tavecchio onlus was created on July 23, 1998 in Monza (Italy) and founded by Alessio Tavecchio, who, five years before, was a victim of a car accident and has been forced to use a wheelchair since.

The most difficult challenge he had to overcome was the transition from 24-hour hospitalization to his "normal" life at home, because in Italy one isn't supported anymore as soon as one leaves the hospital.

The Foundation wants to help those people that don't have help after being hospitalized. It has created the Open Village Monza, a center in which people can do sports and rehabilitation. This center ensures a full adjustment to their lives after leaving the hospital.
