Riccardo Bandiera was born in 1973 and lives near the sea, in Liguria. He discovered photography by chance after technical studies and an engineering job.

For some years he has been a freelance photographer, a professional registered with TAU Visual, alternating commercial works and artistic exhibitions. He has exhibited in Barcelona, Brussels, Rotterdam, Arles, Turin, Genoa, Rome, Munich, Adria, in group and solo exhibitions.

In the 2013 edition of Paratissima he was selected among the most deserving artists with the "Don't drown in the river ..." series of aquatic photos taken in disposable analog. The same project was awarded at the Biennale held in 2015.

In 2016 he came first in the photography section at the Satura Art Gallery and at the Biennale of contemporary art in Salerno with the work "Anedonia".

In 2017 he took part in the Voies Off in Arles, exhibiting works taken from “Atlas Over Arteries”: 9 shots from the same series were selected by the curators of NoPhoto for the photographic section of Paratissima. In November, the photographic book "Invisible Essences" was released in which the author photographed three children from Ravenna suffering from neurological conditions.

He received the third prize of Nowart at the InArte gallery in Bergamo from the critic and curator Denis Curti in December of the same year.

In early 2019, the same photo taken from the "Atlas Over Arteries" series was used as an image of the Paratissima event in Bologna and as the cover of ClickMagazine magazine.
