The boxing gloves worn by Nino Benvenuti in 1967!

The gloves, VIS brand, were worn by Nino Benvenuti during the champions training at the Milanello Sports Centre, and have been autographed when they were given to the Mondo Milan Museum.

Nino Benvenuti has donated this special item at the pre-match of Milan-Fiorentina, Serie A game played on October 27 2014, during an interview with Valerio Staffelli for Milan Channel.

During this interview the Olympic champion talked about his great ties with the Milan team. Giovanni "Nino" Benvenuti, boxing world champion (medium weight) in 1960's New York, was a great friend of Nereo Rocco, the "Paron", coach for Milan in the '60s and '70s. Benvenuti followed the red-black team, and often went to Milanello to train in view of the matches and throw some friendly boxes with friend Rocco.

He won the prestigious Fighter of the Year prize in 1968. The International Boxing Hall of Fame and the World Boxing Hall of Fame have recognized him as one of the most important boxers of all time.

Benvenuti has donated this pair of boxing gloves to the Milan Foundation to support the projects of the Milan non-profit.
